Weird places from dreams.

.
Hey there, I was thinking that while my Esquire post is still in production (which will take at least another week), I'd stop by to share something I'm utterly engrossed in. Strange that with this being the busiest week I've seen in a long time, I can find time to load The Sims and slowly but surely recreate these places from my dreams. Places I just can't seem to forget no matter how much time passes. These captures are similar to rough sketches because I haven't added any of the final ornate details yet. I'll probably update with new photos
if I ever get the rooms just right.

On to the screen captures:

Photobucket

The main hall.
~the dream sequence~
I was walking down this hall with my new husband the evening after our wedding. My parents were there too. After a few minutes of talking, they exited through a door on the left and the groom and I went up the stairs located in the opening on the right.

Photobucket

In such a large hall (almost 200' long, 18' wide, & the ceilings are 26 ft. high) you'd expect a grand staircase or something. In this house the stairs seemed almost hidden which I found kind of interesting.

Photobucket

Believe it or not, this 70' x 50' living room is located in a townhome. It's probably one of the most elaborate rooms I have ever seen while being unconscious. So in case you're wondering why the photo above looks so plain, the room is no where near finished at all! It's just an empty shell for the time being. I put a chair in the screen shot to give an idea of the height of the room (24 ').
~the dream sequence~ After moving to our new home in the city, questionable folk from the area try to break in and murder us. Horror ensues.

On that note, I have to be going to study and then maybe work more on the rooms. Did I ever mention that Wednesday is usually my day off? ^-^

Reno, Twilight, and Vampires! (last vampire topic, I promise!)

.
First off, sorry for taking so long to post anything... and for the overall lack of decent content that has haunted this site since forever. Ok then, let's move forward.

My trip to Nevada. I've been dying to go to Vegas for years now, but I ended up in Reno (not my choice). It's where everyone else decided to go so I went along with it. Maybe next time it'll be Vegas! :(

Day 1:

Miserable. I was super hungry when we arrived and all the restaurants in the hotels were closed. Our hotel was connected to 4-5 others and turns out there were 2 places open at the time but we missed both of them because we were on a different floor and walked under them. Haha, figures. Went to a buffet a couple hours later and semi-hated it (buffets irritate me because I feel so much pressure to eat a lot of food). Spent the rest of the night in my room babysitting while my brother and his wife gambled. They came back to get him super late... Ugh. While I was trying to fall asleep I couldn't get this sad piano music out of my head and wasted an hour crying before passing out.

Day 2:

Woke up feeling better, got dressed up and went shopping and to eat breakfast. Did a bunch of randoms activities, headed back to the room to watch Ellen and Reno 911, then repeated the cycle. On my way to dinner I was stopped several times by random people wanting to tell me~~ guess what?!

Guy: Hey, hey!.. You look like a vampire! :D

Me: Wha?... Oh ^_^;;

Guy: Why do you look like that? 0_o

Me: I don't know... o.o"

It was destined to happen. I remember a time when I used to tell people to shut their trap after any such comments but I don't care as much these days. I'll always look pale and scary so why not just embrace it. And I have... if people want to play off my undeadness that's fine, so will I.

I got a few more comments from strangers, went to dinner, and was seated at the most awkward table in the restaurant (right next to the line of people waiting to get in). As a diversion to keep my mind off the awkwardness, I texted my BFF and Jay throughout dinner. I left the restaurant with a new outlook on... everything.

Then I did the babysittin' thing again, slept, and left the next day. Doesn't that sound like the most exciting trip of all time?!... Yeah, I didn't think so either. I didn't mean to type out the entire trip like an itinerary, but it's just too difficult to make any of it sound like it was interesting so I gave up trying... but I took some photos:

Me, trees, snow, and the cold!
I bolted to the car as soon as this got snapped, it was freezing!

And of course, even more trees to go with all the trees you've already seen. Some of the scenery reminded me of Twilight, which is my next topic:

~Twilight~

Oh my Minho, where do I start? I think I've figured out why everybody assumes I'm an obsessed fan of this movie and here's why~

1. I'm cold to the touch (not something I should brag about I'm guessing). When people complain about being hot I'll usually put my hand on their arm and watch them jump. My hands are like putting a refrigerated drink on someone on a hot day. I know it sounds suspiciously like a health problem being that it's not really normal but I've been to the doctor a million times and nobody can find anything worth worrying about. I'm just cold. Thing is, I should stop pointing it out to people because they probably think I'm doing it to show off my similarities to the Cullens... obviously ㄱ_ㄱ

2. Claude Debussy's Clair de Lune is on my frequently played playlist... I like classical music! Unknown to me, this song has recently been renamed to "that song from Twilight" by crazy fans. When I listen to it people no doubt think it's because Edward does too.

3. Look like the undead. Not my fault.

4. avoid the sun touching my skin at all costs.

5. and occasionally wearing gothic outfits, jewelry, etc. Many people automatically think goth=vampire because they are douches.

You see what I mean? While it's been getting on my nerves the past couple of years that people think I have this huge thing for a movie I had never even seen, it's all just coincidental stuff! I guess it doesn't matter. People can think what they want.

Anyway, now for my favorite thing about the vampires from the movie! They don't sleep! Ever!!! They would be the best guests for a slumber party of all time! The majority of slumber parties I've had turn out like this:

(2:00am)

Me: Hahahahaha! And remember that one time, on that show, with that guy, and... and he died... Hahahaha!

Friend: OMG, I know! Ahahahahahha!

Me: Hahahahaha! XD

Me: OhooooOOoo! And then the time....

Friend: *asleep*

Me: Oh come on!!!

Friend: -.- zzZ

Me: ... I'mma kill you while you're sleeping...

I'm always the only one to stay up until morning during the slumber party! Do you know how awful that is?! It's like you wanna do stuff... ANYTHING... but everyone else went to sleep so now what?! Draw on their face? Delicately arrange them to look as though they're having a tea party?! What the heck! Why am I the only one that will stay up? Well.. I suppose there were a couple times my brother made it till dawn but he doesn't count because he wasn't a guest. Geez!

I can't count the number of times over the years that I sat around waiting for someone to wake up so I could tell them about the genius ideas and revelations I had come up with while sword fighting with myself in the mirror all night. I want... no, I need someone who can endure staying awake the whole night. Also, it will come in handy for the times when I travel and everyone wants to nap as soon as we arrive but I can't because I can't do naps. I can't, although I try and end up laying in bed and not sleeping a'tall... waiting for the others to wake up. *sigh*

Before I go, as I mentioned in the title, this will be the last topic mentioning the V word for the next couple of posts. I don't want it to seem like I'm obsessing over it or anything. It's mostly on my mind all the time because with my darker hair someone will say "hey you know what you look like..." to me everyday. I think this is what most people would call... a curse. One that can only be relinquished by getting a tan (but why endure the skin damage that'd bring).

Next post coming up: Facing your new reality (escapee form an Esquire magazine)! see ya'll then ♥

& by the way...

.
A few people have been asking me to post some photos of my new hair without wearing sunglasses in the pics, and today I gathered enough momentum to pick up a camera and snap a photo. So here it is:

Photobucket
(please excuse the oiliness of my skin, it was hot today and I was out sweating in the sun before taking this photo lol)

I'm considering going back to my stylist so she can put more toner on it to even the color out. Maybe I'll stop by next week~ but I think I'm like 50% back to being the vampire I used to be! Hahaha! The rest of the transformation will take a bit more time...

That's pretty much all I have for this one. Have a great weekend! ♥♥♥

Back from the LA~ '10

.
Alright here it is! I'll try to keep this shorter than last year if possible. Ready?! Ok!

Friday:
I had to wake up at about 2:30 in the morning due to booking a flight that left before 6 AM (I did it because I was able to upgrade a class on one of the flights) so I was running on about 2 hrs sleep for the entire day. Getting to the airport, flying, arriving, and finding our transportation to the hotel all went really smoothly for the most part. Of course we arrived at the hotel wayyyyy before check-in but the staff was nice and we were able to leave our luggage and go explore the area and eat breakfast. The location we had chosen to stay was an area we were already familiar with from the year before, and not far from the Hollywood bowl so we were pretty happy with it.

We returned to the hotel (still much too early for check-in) and the same women we had spoken with earlier came to us to tell us our room was ready. I was extremely happy since I was hoping to get some sleep before we began embarking on a journey to meet my cousin at Union Station. The sleeping part didn't happen, but YAY we were given an upgraded room. I don't know what it is with my luck at hotels but I've been getting rooms far better than the ones I've actually booked everytime for the past couple of years! Maybe it's just good karma!... or not... *ahem*

We relaxed a bit and headed off to meet my cousin! After meeting, we went to a store she knew we'd like (Wacko's) and then to Little Tokyo! Where we ate huge bowls of ramen and then went shopping. I wanted to take photos at LT but seriously, everytime I lifted the camera I ended up putting it back down and then looking at something else and shopping. I only managed this shot of the Sanrio store front~

Photobucket

Hello Kitty (squeeeee!)

Then we went on our way to Pasadena (where my cousin lives) to see the area and her house, which was really nice. We spent some time visiting in her living room, then headed to a yogurt place that was a nightmarish explosion of screaming kids and semi-annoying adults, and continued on back to the hotel. Slept.

Saturday:

Concert day... of doom. Saturday started out as usual. Coffee, snacks, and out to shop! We had made arrangements to meet with my cousin before the concert to eat at Shakey's since none of us had been to one in like 10 or more years and we stumbled across one a couple miles down the street from our hotel. It was really good too! :O

That was followed by a stop at the room to get ready for the concert. I'll warn you now that I think this year's concert was one of my least favorite parts of our trip. So this will be nothing like my exciting recounts of celebrity interactions and the furious waving of glow sticks! Here's what happened~

We started out walking as we weren't that far from the bowl. My mistake at this point was my long jacket and hat I was wearing... in the sun... walking up a hill! I was trying to keep up with my cousin 'cause she was walking all swiftly up the hill but I ended up dropping back while trying my best to resist sweating. It didn't work, by the time we were there I felt the sweat dripping down my back... ewww...

Then, fast forward to the actual concert itself, B2ST went first... FIRST! Why is that an issue you ask? Because you can't even see the stupid screens until the sun goes down! And from our seats the performers are almost invisible! It was truly irritating because B2ST was one of the groups I had wanted to see! Gawd! After a while of not be able to see anything, my cousin and I went to go get some hot chocolate and we returned to find my mom in our seats all curled up in a ball clutching our bags!

Us: What's wrong?

Her: Someone tried to take our seats!

Us: Whawha?!

Her: Yeah, and when I told them these are our seats they kept asking if they really were. Then they were asking if ya'll were coming back and then they tried to sit there anyway! ;.;

That was strike number 2 for the concert this year. Apparently our pool circle seats last year were more organized than these seats were. Give me a break! Like if they stole our seats they'd be able to see anything still?! Pfffft! Moving on!

The last thing that made the concert less fun this year was the lack of energy. It's like in pool circle you're surrounded by people freaking out and jumping up and down. In these seats we sat next to a guy slowly preparing dinner for his group and the women next to him was like knitting a blanket to use later when I got colder or something. Then they'd announce someone super exciting and there'd be one person in the section with an unenthusiastic "yayyy". About halfway into the concert my cousin said she thought it'd be a good idea for her to go home and get some sleep which I can totally understand since she had to drive all the way home and then come back again to see us the next day. Sadly, I also couldn't find any reason to justify any of us staying since it was just so... not what is was last year. The fact that most of the artists performing weren't people I was ecstatic to see contributed as well.

I don't mean to sound all whiny about this, it was just really cold, we couldn't see anything, and I have to say the people insisting to my mom that we had taken their seats kinda ruined it. She told me they were being rude about it too and that of course makes me furious!

We went back to the room and discussed how we'd probably be planning a trip for a different concert next year. We all wanna see Sting! As for KMF... I don't think I'll ever buy KMF tickets before the artists are released and there has to be a certain someone on the list or the deal is off! I know it greatly decreases my chances of getting good seats but whatever, it's better than being stuck with tickets you don't want and can't sell for anything close to what you paid for them right?! o.o

Sunday:

I think Sunday was my favorite day. We went to The Grove and shopped, had lunch, and ate ice cream cones at the same place SS501 had ice cream back in 2006. It was their first time performing at the Hollywood Bowl! I dunno which places they went in '09 because I didn't see the documentary, if they made one... who knows. Then we ditched The Grove and went shopping at some other spots, eventually ended up on Rodeo Drive. And guess what?! I managed to get some photos taken! Shiiiing!

^@ LV

Oh and shopping at this Louis Vuitton was the funnest ever! The sales associates were super nice, helpful and pretty much every SA we passed asked us if we'd like to look at items or try them on. I was surprised since before leaving for LA someone told me that they thought the SAs at the Rodeo LV were rude and unhelpful. I'd have to say they were quite the opposite and even treated Willoughby (my cousin's dog) well. ^-^ My mom was also impressed with our shopping experience and was saying that when she buys a new LV purse she'd like to come back to the Beverly Hills location and buy it there being that they are so great.

She loved the Sepia Idylle bags and I was looking at the Fusain. I'm thinking of getting the Sepia speedy and we can take turns using it (yeah, we share our stuff). Well see, I wanna wait and see how well the Idylle line canvas holds up first. For $1200 it better be pretty darn durable and last awhile! :O

After fulfilling our Pretty Woman experience on Rodeo, we headed to Pasadena to relax for a bit and to drop off Willoughby, who must have been tired from his day of endless shopping. We watched some TV, and took a couple photos:

^Him again. I tried to get a photo of him barking ferociously but this is what I ended up with.

Then we headed back to Hollywood to eat. We had dinner at Mel's Diner which was ok but the service wasn't the best. The end~

Alright then, that's where the vacation part of the trip ends so that's where I'm gonna stop. I'm going to Nevada next week so I'll be doing another trip post then... it'll be shorter than this one!

Oh and one last thing, can ya'll believe that BEG wasn't at KMF but will be performing in San Francisco this month?! That's super close yet I don't think I can make it! *flips over a table* Nooooo! ;.;

The Vampiress is back!

.
And so is cable TV! It's so great because now I have something to do late at night~ Uhuh, like right now! Truly, I'm beyond glad that I'm no longer so desperate for entertainment that I'm resorting to useless gossiping and eavesdropping to fulfill the good 'ole fun meter (Sims reference). Although, it does bring up the question "Why do I even need TV when I can venture out into the dangerous, exciting night?" It's so tempting, I look out my window and see the trees and the downtown lights. How can I sit around in here instead of lurking out there? 'Cause that's all I would do since clubs and bars make me wanna die.. I'd lurk in the darkness and wait for my Vampire counterpart to show up and then... we'd hiss at people passing by, compare the sharpness of our teeth and fingernails, possibly go for some ice cream, and then go home and pretend it never happened... Until the next night during which we'd repeat the same cycle.

Even more tempting is that just a block over are the huge Victorian houses. Quite a few of them resemble castles! I wanna go and see them, right now! Should I risk it? Should I?! I might get stabbed before I even get a glimpse of the moon and that would be super disappointing. *sigh* For tonight I'll stay in but I dunno how long I can control it...

Speaking of uncontrollable urges, tomorrow I'm giving in and watching Twilight for the first time. I've purposely avoided it as of yet because I was annoyed by everyone thinking the reason I look gothic/vampiresque occasionally is due to myself being a huge Twilight fangirl, which is totally NOT true! I've been pasty and scary lookin' way before those movies ever came out!! I'm looking forward to watching it so I can see if it's really as awesome as I heard it is! ^-^

And I'll try to have some new photos up soon, however it might not happened until I get back from L.A. I'll try to get something interesting up before I go if I can!

Super late Easter nonsense! Photos~

.
Well, Easter was semi-boring and lame. There's really only one reason I even acknowledge that the holiday exists... and that reason would be the EASTER BASKETS! Now here's some hot Easter candy photos:

So if you're looking for updates over the next couple of weeks while I'm moving/cleaning/planning my trip you can find them here! This post will probably be my last until around the end of the month~ so much to do! U.U

~fin~

My last topic of discussion for today is, of course, the LA trip. I have decided I am going for sure and I've rescheduled all activities and meetings accordingly. It wasn't easy either, it was pretty much a nightmare... but it's done! I had to extend the length of my stay to about 4 days but still, it'll be cheaper than making separate travel arrangements right? My only uncertainty now is whether I'll change my hotel accommodations or not. I'm currently booked at the KMF sponsor hotel but it's a lil inconvenient since I'd be better suited in Hollywood or the Beverly Hills area... Hmm... Either way, I'll see some of ya'll at the concert! Weee exciting! ^-^

Oh, and another photo I posted on twitter from the photos I took for the silly contest I entered last year (yep, September!):

^ I still really love that outfit.

Have a great weekends guys!

Moving~ Yay! (not)

.
Well it's been just over a year since we moved here. About 4 months ago my brother decided to move to the other side of Sac to be closer to the college which I didn't mind at all... however my mom did because they took her grandson with them and she wants to see him EVERYDAY! So after the past 4 months of listening to her complaining and being eMo I decided to give in and we're moving again.

Do you remember last year's "buy the first thing you see policy" that's been in our family since forever?! I didn't want that to happen, so I specifically said:

"this time lets not buy the first Apt. we see... k?" ^-^

and it was agreed upon! Of course, that's not what happened and we did get the first one. But I have a valid excuse this time!! Really!!

We already knew we wanted to move into the same building as my brother (obviously). And we decided we'd get an Apt. on the first floor this time so we could have the little patio, but the manager told us the only downstairs unit that'd be available soon was 1 br. and wouldn't be available for 1 month or longer because the current residents are being evicted... sounds horrible. She seemed to think we'd be better off upstairs in the 2 br. Apt. located directly above her own and OMM, I didn't realize it before but the upstairs units are so much bigger (designed that way to make up for lack of yard) and they are cheaper than the downstairs units too!

I know in most situations, you'd think "Ohh no!" about living above the person that can have you booted out of the complex but she's cool, and from what I've heard, has a similar schedule to my own (the Vampire schedule). I think my brother and sister-n-law are friends with the manager also, so that's good. I feel better about the moving situation now that I know the specific details about our new place! Oh, and I LOVE that with the lower rent I can start my new budget which allows for more traveling/shopping/fun stuff!

But I'll only know how I'll truly feel about it once I live there. The downside of moving is that my blog suffers a huge loss of updates during the process, sorry. I can't wait to start taking some photos in the new area! It's a beautiful neighborhood! It reminds me of my old neighborhood in Texas, it has treeeeees! :D (but then so does the area I live in now)

And for this post's photo, I present to you the reason we most move:

Photobucket

He's the cutest/prettiest member of our family hands down. I need to make sure my camera works when I go to see him tomorrow~ (cr: photo via his mommy) :b

Oh and April Fools! PUhahaha!

... No, no.. I really am moving but after hearing the lamest April fools jokes ever today, I've lost the will to even try. Pathetic I know... ;.;

Me: *walks in bedroom*

Me: OMM, it's so huge! Check it out!
