Playmobil Princess Fantasy Castle! Construction and Review! (Lots of photos)

Hello and WELCOME TO MY CASTLE!

The Playmobil Princess Fantasy Castle that is! You know, the one from my Valentine's haul that I swore I'd review?! Well, here it finally is!

A note about spoilers: If you're like me and would rather discover all the cool little features on your own, you may want to skip this post.

As pictured on the front and back of the box.

Once opened, you can expect to find:

Numerous intimidating piles and bags of parts! Now when I say "numerous" bags, I mean at least 50... but don't worry, the instructions are sure to clear up any confusion!

Let's begin, page one:

Excellent~ there are no silly words to confuse us with explanations or clear directions.  These instructions remind me of something from Ikea. They are strictly the "look at picture, MAKE HAPPEN!" type of instructions.

I'm up for the challenge.

Honestly, the hardest part was making sure the stickers were not off center.

Next~

Compared to something like Legos, I definitely think these directions go FAST!

Still managing to keep up!

Only a few pages in and already close to the halfway point!

Boom! On with the next section~

This was slightly more dificult because the photos on the box show more corner pieces with column detail than you actually get, so a choice had to be made (where to put the ugly column) u.u

Next the tower is under way.

Then the stairs and finishing touches.

I love the stairs O.O

stairs...

Cool feature: behind the window is a storage container for small pieces (such as jewels/treasure).

The ornate railings may be my favorite feature of all.

But did I mention the stairs? So fancy O.O

Regal!

Cool feature: Working dance floor.

Look at all the bows!

I can imagine a black and white movie playing out here...

Front view

Cool feature alert! That door really locks! *dies*

Behold the finished castle's magnificence!

The back... could use more furnishings... but all in a day's work.

Looks like a piece of cake right? I admit that it did take me over the estimated construction time, 2 hours, to finish because I took a break to cook dinner inbetween sections. By the way, the little tool they give you really started to hurt my fingers after a while.

You have to use this to insert hundreds of little red rectangles and yellow cylinders to connect the walls/floors/roof/everything.

Also, much time goes into the tiniest of details, like assembling flowers, and placing tiny little stickers.

Being that the flowers are so small, they do included extras! They also included a pack of jewels... FOR A TIARA, bracelet, and ring set! 8D

Which I, of course, wore while decorating, furnishing, and opening the rest of the Playmobil haul!

There are more photos of the castle to come later in this post. However it's time to set the fairies, dragons, princes, and others free.

(why is my hand's shadow so creepy)

Mystery figure! I hope it's the Native American! D:

*violently rips package apart*

Womp womp woooomp.

A tennis player?...

ok.

Next:

The dragon.

It has wing-arms!!!

A sack of fairies and unicorns!

Mmm... resealable to keep them fresh and crisp! n.n

more bags.

and instructions...

easy task after assembling the castle.

Healer fairy! I chose her because she's blue.

A Ghost knight!

Cool effect: Glows in the dark:

I plan for him to live in the tower.

He sneaks out at night. Chaos ensues.

Vampire couple!

They have fun accessories.

I escourted the tennis player out for her own safety (vampires, ghost knights, dragons).

Some of the figures came with interesting little books featuring other Playmobil products:

This item is coming up in another post. I completely customized my dollhouse though, so it looks nothing like that photo.

I wanted to get this too but I'm out of space. Castles take up a lot of room you know.

Anyhow, I'd like to show a little more of the castle! Did you know it has a pond?

That's an orange frog.

It's a popular attraction for butterflies as well.

Notice the elegant swan crest above the double doors.

Feature: this room includes a locking glass cabinet. All furniture and accessories pictured come with the castle (excluding the grandfather clock and rug).

Princess and dragon fly are included too!

As are the prince and the two KITTENS! :3

Welcome to the kitchen/royal dining room. Healer fairy is preparing treats.

The dishes on the shelves are included with the castle. The gold book and the basket came with the blue fairy.

Cool feature: Soaring vaulted ceilings!

Vamps and dragon making themselves at home. None of this furniture is included except for the blue and yellow flowers in a pot.

Due to the size of the castle, it took me a while to find a place for it. Eventually I sacrificed the top of my armoire to give it a permanent home. I landscaped the surface accordingly:

Oddly enough, I like the way my Halloween tree looks with it.

It gives it a more magical, whimsical feeling.

Cool feature: Hiding place under the stairs.
I also incorporated some Ever After High box backgrounds into the scene. I really think Ashlynn and Hunter's box makes a nice backdrop.

This is, truthfully, the most photos I have ever used in one post. Did anyone make it to the end? The reason I put this post off for so long was due to the overwhelming amount of photos I had to sift through, and it took a couple of hours to narrow it to a mere 67. My customized Grand Mansion should be easier, it doesn't have as much going on at all.

Lastly, if anyone is interested in this castle, or any other Playmobil items, I suggest this website: ReallyGreatToys.com
I got a pretty decent discount on this castle as well as the figures I ordered (and I received a free mystery figure for spending over $40). Also, my purchase earned enough points that I got a substantial discount on the furniture sets I ordered for the Grand Mansion later. I hope they don't mind me mentioning their website on my eternally weird blog, but I thought other Playmobil aficionados may benefit from a good deal.

Well... I am exhausted. Until next time~~~

I love the castle; where was this stuff when I was a kid? Thanks for taking the time to show all of the pieces.

No problem! I wish they had this particular item available when I was a kid too! ^^
