Happy Halloween!!

Thought I'd stop by to wish everyone a Happy Halloween and post a quick update. I didn't get around to it earlier because I was preoccupied with the situation in our apartment. I woke up at 3AM and discovered our furnace (that we never use and isn't lit) was leaking an awful smell~~ at which point I freaked out (I mean REALLY freaked out!) tryin' to decide whether to wake my mom up and get the heck outta here or not. It caused a full blown panic attack! But what else can be expected, it IS super dangerous right?! Anyway, I couldn't let it go, spazzed out about it all day until the PG&E guy showed up to turn off the gas and told us he was taking the valve and capping the pipe. We're not planning on using that death trap furnace this winter so we didn't ask to have it fixed, just turned off completely with no gas supply. After he left, I continued to spaz even more throughout the day haha.

These last few days I've been shopping, decorating, going out with friends and... I agreed to attend a party this year! The girl that gave me the candles is hosting it and I thought since I just mentioned her in the last post it's sort of a sign... and I haven't seen her in forever so I should I guess. I'll try to get some pictures, hopefully everyone is gonna dress up! ^-^ By the way, I did end up getting a Victorian ball gown to wear. I got the smallest size as was advised by the salesperson although I had my doubts about it, but it fits. I am a little too tall for the dress to wear it with my huge boots so I'll be going with flats this time... so much for being ultra tall and narrow like one of those creepy clowns with the super long legs :/

While on the subject of fashion, here's the photos I was gonna post a few days ago. Nothing exciting, only that I finally wore an outfit that's been hanging in my closet for 2 years:

I had to edit my face/hair out of the photo because the rain that afternoon ruined both T.T

Yeah, it's just my first wintery outfit. I usually avoid sweater dresses at all costs since they make me look extremely bulky, but I wore it anyway in a liberating act of defiance. It seemed more awesome at the time but now it's like "just a sweater dress, who cares?" XD

Oh, and here's a song we used to play every Halloween at our house when we were kids. I think my brother won this cassette in a contest at our school~ It's sort of lame and sounds like Thriller but I like it anyway (good memories) :b

(for those wondering, yes, this is an actual witchcraft ritual. Do I really think it'll work? Maybe, who knows. Is it something I've done before? Not really~ the reason I have the candles/oils/scrolls in the first place is because they were given to me by someone that specifically prepared them for me. It was a surprising gift I must say.. Oh and the scrolls really do have a caution paragraph included on the bottom :o ... I'll update if there are any results later, but I kind of doubt any will be seen. It's been 2 months and nothing yet... but they wouldn't likely be immediate anyway.)

Red Alert! Crisis! S.O.S! Help! ZOMG!

The worst thing that could've happened, as far as my holiday plans are concerned, HAS HAPPENED! I am officially without costume at the moment! A huh huh huh, I'm cursed! Cursed every Halloween! Who would've though that curses and such would be so rampant this time of year! Whyyy?! D:

So here's the situation as it is now~ I ordered and paid for the missing piece of my costume, it was shipped, then apparently was returned for some reason, and there's no way in hell that it can be re-shipped and arrive in time! The store I ordered from gave me 2 options: to have it sent again, or to get a refund. I spent several hours trying to make a decision, it was torture. With the refund I could buy something else you see... But I wondered what if the item being sent back was somehow my own fault?! What if I'm to blame... It's possible... and then it'd be sort of rude to ask for the refund...

Then I realized that it's been 2 weeks since the item had been returned and they didn't contact me about it until now, after I asked them why I didn't have my order. Refund it is! I've also decided that I'm not the one that's cursed, it's the costume itself. It's just ALL WRONG!

So I'm gonna just go with the cliché, and buy myself the most elaborate Victorian or Edwardian gown I can find, put on my sky high boots, and be the queen of Halloween. I'll probably have to blow a few extra bucks but what the hell, right? I do what I want~ This is gonna be awesome anyway because I'm actually tiny enough to comfortably fit in one of those miniscule waisteline Victorian getups! It's times like these when this stupid diet makes me really happy I stuck with it. ^-^

I guess crisis is adverted for now... I still want that item that was sent back though... I was gonna add it to my daily wardrobe after wearing it with my costume ;.; It would've been so cute!!

*ahem* Is it just me, or am I almost acting like a bridezilla planning her wedding with all my Halloween stuffs. I gotta try and get my freaking out under control...

*looks over at decoration table*

Me: Where are the missing mini skulls and pumpkins!!! D:

Mom: What?

Me: There are two missing from this bag! Where are they! WHERE ARE THEY!

Mom: I gave them to your nephew... he wante--

Me: HOW DARE YOU! I ALREADY GAVE HIM ONE! I HAD THESE COUNTED OUT FOR MY DECORATING SCHEME AND NOW IT'S SCREWED UP!

Mom: Well I'll buy--

Me: WHYYYY?! WHYYY?!! YOU'VE RUINED EVERYTHING! EVERYTHING IS RUINED! IT'S RUINED! RUINNNNED! AHHHH! AHHHHH!!!!!

*rips veil in half and stomps on it*

Mom: .... Where'd you get a veil? o_o

Due to scheduling conflicts I didn't get to go after the supplies for my epic Halloween decorating scheme today. We decided to try going tomorrow... only to find out a somewhat popular band will be performing at our shopping destination. I hate crowds so that's just not gonna happen. Next Friday I'll try again... I'm so nervous right now and consumed with doubt whether or not I'll get what I need in time. Halloween is serious business... I'm serious... XD

I'm in group C and it's still the same photo as last time (guess they decided not to switch until the next round) and the username is Happy Kitten... which sounds ridiculous, I know, but it's a name I started using way back in the day and it's stuck with me till now (hehehe). It's unfortunate for me that they didn't switch the photos though, I thought the orange-haired photo would be far more likely to get votes. Life is so unfair XD






^And this is the photo to look for (except it's been rotated, resized, and reuploaded and looks a bit odd on their site). I wonder why they did that? "cause there are other contestants with even more sideways looking pics and they didn't get rotated. *le sigh*

Anyway, voting does require a Soompi account 'cause they're logging usernames/ip addresses so they can catch/ban any cheaters. Why would someone cheat on a forum modeling contest you ask? I have no idea, sounds like a sad way to waste one's time I'd say... but I reckon there are those types out there... waiting... scheming... plotting... to cheat in online contests!

YaRr, I feel so lame for making a post basically asking ya'll to vote for me (of course I'll love ya'll all the same even if you don't, it doesn't matter). So~ I'll be back with the before promised pictures in a couple of days to make up for it! ^.^;;

Well, due to my not finding what I was looking for last weekend, my holiday shopping will commence again this Friday. And I won't be making the same mistake I made last week~~ wearing the wrong shoes and walking around in them for 8 hours. I've been practically paralyzed ever since ;.;

The highlight of the trip was of course shopping the designer shops and department stores in the mall (the good mall that's like an hour's drive from here)! Also getting coffee while out was awesome too because I haven't been able to do that in months. We tried this new place at Nordstrom's which was pretty decent~

Yeah, I use a straw to drink my hot coffee... so wut... XD

I can't wait till Friday to go back though! I'mma be extra strict with my diet so I can get coffee again! ^-^

Spiders spiders everywhere.

So our weather these past two months is driving me crazy. Practically everyday it's one extreme or another:

News: Oh wow! We are starting Fall early this year with these record breaking cool temperatures!

JFC, I just want it to get cold and stay that way. My biggest problem with the heat waves?! Spiders! Everytime a hot, steamy day appears out of nowhere I find spiders running around EVERYWHERE! I haven't even been able to get a decent night's sleep lately because of their scampering around on my bed, and the walls, and the ceiling, and the tables, and my keyboard right now as I type this!

It makes me tempted to smash 'em but I don't like killing them since they're just hanging out, probably not meaning any harm right? However, I have resorted to using my antique backscratcher to fling them off the wall/surfaces next to me when they get too close. Rude I know, but they need to stay out of my spider-free comfortzone over here~




Anyway, today is the start of my October picture spamming (^photo at top of post). I decided since I ended up with hundreds of photos from that project I started a while back, I'd just select a few to put in several posts from now until Halloween. I consequently decided to drop the story that went with the photos because it was probably just too ~out there~ anyhow. I'll try to save the creepiest ones for last... o.o

Today was extremely boring... which is a rare thing for me to say on a day like this when I've been shopping all afternoon, but boring still. I'm pretty sure it's due to the fact that I won't be shopping for my Halloween decorations and putting them up until Friday~ so everyday this week just seems so pointless. Like GTFO of the way Wednesday and Thursday, everyone hates you! *sigh* I've usually more patience, just not when it comes to this time of year.

So to pass the time, I'm listening to my traditional get ready for Halloween music and watching seizure inducing MVs:

Ps. I still advise everyone to avoid Drugstore.com. I mean yeah, you might order something for 50 bucks and have no issues... OR they might overcharge you the equivalent of 2 weeks worth of your income by mistake and then accuse you of being a liar when you ask them to fix it... Then they might ask you for proof and refuse to look at it when you give it to them... and then when you find a way to trick them into viewing said proof they will be all "oh, well you're still wrong" and make up a new rule to explain why you're wrong (one you already know for certain is a lie due to another customer service person telling you the exact opposite last time they overcharged you)... and then after finally realizing they have to give you a refund, they will continue to say it's only due to courtesy and that you're still so very wrong and that you should be grateful that they took mercy on you.

So beware~ or go ahead and order from them if something like that doesn't bother you I guess. ^-^

Nevermind~ in case you already saw what I wrote here earlier, I'm editing it now because it's somewhat resolved and I feel bad for name calling (even though I didn't even use any good ones)... however I did save the original post to put up again if, by chance, they don't follow through! Sorry for wasting your lives if you had to read it. By the way, this edited portion has nothing whatsoever to do with the following paragraphs! XD

Date for Halloween

Since the dawning of time, Halloween (and for me, all of OCT.) is a time meant for shocks, frights, and scares! Today I plan to creep everyone out by announcing that I'm looking for a date for the 30th! *waits for screams to die out* Or maybe date isn't a good word, more like I need a male friend to hang out with... You know, because the city I currently reside has a constant trend of rapes and murders and something like that would totally ruin my night. I faced the realization earlier today when my shoes arrived. I was looking for something pretty specific for my costume and found it online so I was totally unaware of the fact that when this particular store says 3" heel, it actually means 4". Such things can happen when you don't try shoes on in person before buying... Therefore my attack readiness is in peril (like the episode of the Office when Dwight has to wear long sleeves) and therefore I shall require an escort. ^-^

I'll probably just ask a male friend but I wonder if this will be difficult. You know how it works, when you're looking for someone everyone is busy or not around and when you're not looking for anyone and wanna be left alone people are always around bothering you. That's how it usually works for me at least. I can't let this costume go to waste though!.. Assuming it ever gets here... :/
